Bongizwe
Company Owner

My love for nature started a couple of decades ago, not to mention miles away (from Johannesburg) in this tiny, village called kwaMagwanxa, in Hluhluwe, which stood a stone throw away from the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park. The advantages of growing up close to this infamous park meant that I was surrounded by lush mountains and the magnificent Hluhluwe dam. Needless to say, I loved to “blissfully” immerse myself in all that wonderful nature around me. And seeing animals on a daily basis was a major highlight for me. I was so intrigued by everything they did. I watched them for hours trying to understand their behaviour and learn their unique callings.

Celumusa Ngema
Reservations Trainee

Growing up in a tiny village known to the locals as Mgodla, not far from Hluhluwe Game Reserve wasn’t easy but being close to nature was a blessing in disguise. Mgodla village was small but nice natural place and splendid for tranquility seekers. As a young boy growing up near Hluhluwe dam, I always saw tourists’ boats cruising on the Hluhluwe dam through the game reserve. Hippos, crocodiles and other animals were always along the dam. It was then where I developed the tourism industry interest. Having grown up in a rich and unique culture my next goal was to learn about other cultures which was only possible in tourism industry because it is where you travel and learn. As soon as I got to the high school, I chose tourism as one of the subjects into my curriculum. After graduating at high school, I pursued travel and tourism in one of the colleges in Durban. I attained my diploma in 2017 and joined Southern Tours and Safaris in November 2018 to realize my goal. I am driven by passion, love of nature and travel industry.
