Day 1 Windhoek

The tour gets underway from Windhoek International Airport to the capital city of Namibia, Windhoek. We do an orientation city tour, before driving to the hotel. We check in and have some time to relax before our departure, meeting again at 16:00 to sign indemnity forms. After the meeting we get ready for our first group dinner in one of the local restaurants (dinner at own expense). B&B

Day 2&3 Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park surrounds the Etosha Pan (which means Great White place of dry water). The waterholes surrounding the pan attract all species of animals. The park is famous for its great sightings of elephants, lions, hundreds of springboks and other antelopes. We have a day to spend in the park spotting animals, both during our morning game drive and later in the afternoon. Visit the waterhole during the midday break, as animals often come out to drink. DB&B.

Day 4 Twyfelfontein

We start the day with an early breakfast and drive out of the park, making a short stop at Oudjo to stock up water and other personal needs, before we drive to Twyfelfontein. This region is known as the ancient art region because of the San rock art: one of the oldest forms of rock art in Africa. We visit the San (bushman) paintings before we drive to the lodge. There is also an opportunity to track the desert elephants on foot with local guides from the lodge (optional activity). DB&B

Day 5&6 Erindi Game Reserve

We leave Twyfelfontein, driving through the semi-arid region and passing Omaruru en route to Erindi game reserve. Erindi, meaning “a place of water”, is one of the iconic and pristine conservation areas located in central Namibia. The game reserve boosts a large number of cheetahs, oryx and other species. We have a sunset jeep safari and two safaris on the following day. DB&B

Day 7&8 Swakopmund

We drive through the flat, open landscape towards the south-west of Namibia, driving past the Spitzkoppe granite domes to the coast, where we visit Cape Cross seal colony. After spending some time walking among the seals, we drive to the hotel in Swakopmund. We have a day free to explore the town or book optional activities such as sand boarding, quad biking, fishing or flights over the desert. DB&B

Day 9&10 Naukluft National Park/Sossusvlei

We leave Swakopmund and cross the lunar landscapes that surround the town, and head to Namib Desert, which has incredible red sand dunes. We cross the Tropic of Capricorn before reaching our destination. The following morning, we climb Dune 45, walk on Deadvlei and explore the Sesriem Canyon when the sun gets cooler. The Namib Desert offers spectacular sunsets and sunrises. DB&B

Day 11 Windhoek

The journey takes us back to where we started, in Windhoek, driving between the mountains and valleys. We reach the city late in the afternoon and visit the local markets to use our last Namibian dollars before we fly out of the country. We go out for dinner in one of the famous local restaurants in the city (dinner at own expense).B&B

Day 12 Tour end

The tour comes to an end after breakfast. We drive to the airport for your departures. B&B

NAMIBIA

A land of wide open spaces, never failing to enthral its visitors. Namibia is known for its contrasting landscapes. The Namib Desert is the oldest in the world, with its high dunes and awe-inspiring sense of space. The views over the Fish River Canyon, the delicate balance of wildlife in Etosha National Park. The German heritage is very noticeable in Swakopmund and Windhoek.

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL: Namibia is one of the diverse countries in Africa geographically. The desert, the semi-arid, rocky mountainous landscapes and flat and fertile land in the Zambezi Region. The winter nights can be extremely cold while the day are cooler. The summer is rainy and hot. The best time to travel Namibia is between April and October.

DAMARALAND is a land of stark desert beauty. Early morning mists, generated by the clash between the icy Atlantic Ocean and the warm desert air of the Skeleton Coast, drift inland along the canyons, providing sustenance to the flora and fauna of the region. Rare succulent plants abound in this harsh countryside. Damaraland includes the granite domes of the Spitkoppe rising above the desert floor. The rock engravings of Twyfelfontien, the San rock paintings in the Brandberg landscapes.

ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK is one of the world’s most famous game sanctuaries. The huge, salty bowl which forms the vast central area of the park is only occasionally filled with water, so game concentrates in the grasslands and bush which encircle the reserve. Here on the perimeter, are underground springs feeding smaller pans, which serves as the magnet which has drawn such an abundance of game to the area.

SKELETON COAST is one of the most inhospitable but hauntingly beautiful places on the planet: desolate and uninhabited. It has everything, from roaring sand dunes, windswept plains, towering canyons and saltpans to seal colonies and shipwrecks.
